The Respiratory Disease Panel – Canine (rtPCR) utilizes real-time polymerase chain reaction (rtPCR) to detect pathogens commonly responsible for respiratory disease in dogs. This comprehensive panel targets multiple respiratory pathogens, including Bordetella bronchiseptica, canine adenovirus 2, canine distemper virus, canine herpesvirus 1, canine influenza virus (subtypes H3N8 and H3N2), canine respiratory coronavirus, and canine parainfluenza virus. These pathogens are often associated with infectious respiratory conditions in dogs. The high sensitivity of rtPCR enables the detection of even low levels of these pathogens, allowing for rapid and accurate diagnosis. This panel is especially useful in identifying co-infections or in outbreak situations within kennels, shelters, or multi-dog environments.
