Fungal Antibody Panel
The Fungal Antibody Panel is a thorough diagnostic test used to detect exposure to multiple fungal pathogens. It combines several testing methods to increase diagnostic accuracy. The panel includes antibody detection for Blastomyces, Coccidioides, Histoplasma, and Aspergillus using agar gel immunodiffusion (AGID); antibody detection for Coccidioides, Histoplasma, and Aspergillus through complement fixation (CF); and antigen detection for Cryptococcus neoformans using latex agglutination. This comprehensive approach enables diagnosing systemic fungal infections that can present with chronic respiratory, neurological, or systemic symptoms in animals. This panel is especially valuable for animals from endemic areas or those displaying signs of severe fungal disease, as the combination of AGID, CF, and latex agglutination provides a detailed profile of fungal exposure and active infections.

Collection Guidelines
- Collect an adequate amount of blood in a plain red-top tube or serum separator tube (yellow-top tube). Allow it to clot at room temperature for 30 to 60 minutes before separation.
- Centrifuge to separate the serum. Transfer the clear serum into a new, leak-proof plain red-top tube and label it as “serum.”
- Excessively hemolyzed samples are not suitable for this test.
- Unspun samples will not be accepted.
- Refrigerate sample at 4oC until shipment.

Packing Instructions
Label each sample with the animal’s name and a unique identifier, using a permanent marker or a secure adhesive label. Ensure the submittal form is completed with the animal’s information and relevant medical history.
